Today we drop in on vocalist Rosie Rebel of Typhoid Rosie.
Typhoid Rosie released their new album Hearts Bleed Goodbye in March 2016. And, they have a show coming up this Thursday, May 19 at The Bowery Electric. Doors are at 7:30PM and it will cost you $8…more details after our visit.
Here's what we found out when we dropped by.
* * *
Quirky NY Chick (QNYC): ... and brought a friend who didn't know your music, what song of yours would you play for them and why?
Rosie Rebel (RR): My two favorite songs to play live are "Run Along" and "Till We Meet Again."
(QNYC): ... what song or album would you feel I needed to hear before I left?
(RR): Oh my, well obviously the first thing to do is listen to our epic album, "Hearts Bleed Goodbye", and if you're seeing us live, there's also two new incredible songs we're playing at our show called, "Happiness" and "I Belong To Somebody." They're so good, that I feel high after we play it, and we have to go back and do it again.
(QNYC): ... and browsed your movie collection, what would you suggest I watch?
(RR): I would recommend the movies that still make me laugh after I've seen them a thousand times: The biggest one being National Lampoon's Vacation. The one where the family is driving across country.
(QNYC): … vinyl, cassette or digital?
(RR): Vinyl obviously.
(QNYC): ... what's one thing you must have in your refrigerator at all times?
(RR): Haha, we eat a lot of this fake chicken "Gardein" brand. It's so good, it almost tastes better than meat, and I don't get the "Post Meat Shames" which is a cycle of guilt I go through after I eat meat.
(QNYC): ... what's the most valuable piece of advice you've been given?
(RR): Know who your friends are, and aren't. The older you get, the more valuable your time becomes. Don't spend what little time you have on the wrong people. That's the one lesson, I've had to learn over and over.
My thanks to Rosie for letting me "drop by".

About Typhoid RosieHearts Bleed Goodbye is the new album from Typhoid Rosie, which features 11-powerful tracks which are inspired by love and love lost. The record pays a heartfelt tribute to front-woman Rosie Rebel’s late Mother, who passed away suddenly when she had an aneurysm while driving a car leaving her Grandmother’s wake. Before even having the chance to take off her mourning clothes or bury her Grandmother, Rebel would also unexpectedly and tragically have to say goodbye to the woman she loved most.
