Briclyn Entertainment presents Project Hygiene™, an initiative developed in conjunction with Urban Architect/ We Build Culture and All Things Progressive to give a hand to underprivileged adolescents and teens, promoting health & wellness, as well as advocating against bullying.

All donated hygiene products collected for the NYC market will be donated to The Boys & Girl Club of Sunnyside/Woodside Queens (www.swbgc.org).

Delta Spirit Release New Tour Video

Delta Spirit released their official tour video for "Yamaha" this week.  The clip was shot and edited by the bands own Matt Vasquez.  Check out the clip below.

Also, the band wrote a song for The Walking Dead titled, "Running".  It can be found on The Walking Dead Original Soundtrack, Vol. 1.

Eve released her new video featuring Gabe Saporta of Cobra Starship today on Vevo. The track is from her upcoming album Lip Lock which is scheduled to be released on May 14. Check it out below.

Kaki King To Play NY Shows + New Video

Kaki King is celebrating the 10th Anniversary of her first album, Everybody Love You.  In celebration, she will be doing four shows, the 10th Anniversary Celebration/ Extravaganza/Retrospective tour, in which she will perform the album in its entirety. The New York show will be split into two sets.  The first show is a full album solo acoustic set while the second show is a full band set where she will be performing songs from her entire career.  See below for details and additional tour dates.

King is also proud to announce that she has won the just-published Guitar Player Annual Readers' Poll for Best Acoustic Guitarist. This comes several years after Rolling Stone called her one of the best guitarists in the world, claiming she is "a genre unto herself."

Q & A With Eric Tessmer

A while back, I was on the Lower East Side, taking in music at a local venue. Two of the bands on the line-up I had experienced previously, the third, I was unfamiliar with.  Upon hearing a few moments of that unfamiliar band, I thought, ‘whoa, who’s that?!’ and took out my camera to document the set. Musically, the band covered the territory that spans between blues rock and face melting.

The band, Austin based trio, Eric Tessmer Band. 

Recently, I 'e-questioned' guitarist Eric Tessmer. The talented Tessmer has garnered comparison to Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jimi Hendrix while carving out his own place on the scene and honing his own sound.  He recently took second place in The Austin Chronicle music poll in the "Best Electric Guitar" category behind Gary Clark, Jr. Yeah, he’s the real deal folks.  Check out our Q & A below.

Quirky NY Chick (QNYC): Tell us a little about yourself.  When did you first start playing?

Eric Tessmer (ET): I'm not really sure when I started, to be honest. My dad plays guitar, my grandma played guitar and apparently a lot of family further back on my dad's side had an affinity for stringed instruments, so it was always around when I was growing up. We used to go to my dad's gigs when I was little. I remember my dad got my older brother a guitar when he was 12, so I would have been 8. My brother wasn't really into it, but I sure thought it was exciting! I think I really realized it was how I identified my feelings and how I wanted to express myself around age 12. My dad took me and my brother to see Pink Floyd that year. David Gilmour could have told me to eat worms and I would have done it, I was obsessed!
