Lenny Kravitz - Low

I'm just going to sit this video right here. Why? Because any day is a good day for Lenny Kravitz. Oh, and he has a new album, Raise Vibration, scheduled for release on September 7.  You can pre-order a variety of bundles HERE. Some of the bundles require commitment...I went with a lesser commitment option. Check out the video below.

Rodney Crowell Releases New Album

Out today, July 13, is the latest album from Rodney Crowell, Acoustic Classics. Mr. Crowell has taken some of his classic songs and made all acoustic recordings of them. The album is the debut release on his newly launched label RC1.

A creative powerhouse with no off switch, the acclaimed songwriter, musician, author and poet is adding yet another title to his already esteemed pedigree; label head.  As prolific today, as he was in his twenties, Crowell has released six albums in the last ten years.  Next on deck is a re-distilled, acoustic presentation of 12 masterfully-crafted tunes from his 40-plus-year career in a truly intimate setting.  “With the help of some of my favorite musicians, I’ve made all acoustic instrument recordings of ten of my most recognizable songs. Also included is a couple more recently written that I want people to hear. There’s even a revised version of my most commercially successful song, "Shame on the Moon,” said Crowell.  “All in good fun.”

You can pick up Acoustic Classics HERE.

Get Funky With George Clinton At The Newport Jazz Festival

George Clinton is heading to the Newport Jazz Festival on Sunday, August 5 with his Parliament Funkadelic. Yep, you heard me. You have tickets for this right? No, you better get on it. If you, for some reason, have never seen the funk legend do his thing, this is the perfect opportunity especially since Mr. Clinton, who recently released Medicaid Fraud Dogg, has declared he will retire from touring.

As a wee quirky chick in the 70's, I remember roller skating to "Flash Light" and singing along to "Aquaboogie (A Psychoalphadiscobetabioaquadoloop)” because, well, let's be honest, it's fun to say the "word" Psychoalphadiscobetabioaquadoloop! As I'm writing this, I feel the need to blast some P-Funk...forgive and thank me neighbors for getting you funked up.

Folks, get thy booty's to The Fort so we can tear the roof off the sucker together!

The Newport Jazz Festival presented by Natixis Investment Managers takes place August 3 - 5. For more details visit the festival website HERE.
