South Korea native, New York based, Jihae is slated to release her third full-length re
cord on July 7, 2010. The record, Fire Burning Rain, will be released on her own Septem Records. You can grab the first single from the record, the hypnotic and haunting "My Love," using the handy widget below. The lyrics from the song were inspired by a Niki de Saint Phalle art book. This is one of those songs you'd play on a rainy night while sprawled out on floor cushions drinking wine, surrounded by candles and burning incense. I like those kind of songs. www.jihae.net

Fellow New Yorkers, the Studio Six Theater Company is presenting ...the itsy bitsy spid
er... Thanksgiving weekend! So, if you're going to be in town, like theater and want some form of entertainment that doesn't involve your Aunt Birdie Mae in a feathered head dress, trying to trade your Uncle Willie for a turkey leg, this might just be right up your alley. ...the itsy bitsy spider... is directed by Moscow Art Theater director, Alexandre Marine and featuring Sofiya Akilova, Jill Dion, Alesia Georgiou, Nicole Kontolefa, Matt Raines, Vasanth Santosham, Ben Sargent, Raphael Schklowsky, Taylor Sutherland and Karen Tararache. The production will run November 24 - 25 and 27 - 28 at 7 PM at The Baryshnikov Arts Center, 450 W 37th Street, between 9th & 10th Avenues. ...the itsy bitsy spider... revolves around a controversial chapter of Dostoevsky's novel, The Possessed, that was originally censored in Russia. Exploring fanaticism and ideals, revolution and conspiracy, Dostoevsky's tale is haunting not only because we know Russia's fate but also because the characters are startlingly familiar to us today. Moscow Art Theater director Alexandre Marine brings relationships and psychology to the fore, creating a moving image of a town torn apart by a few men and their mysterious pasts.

Brazilian vocalist Bebel Gilberto is currently supporting her latest album, All In One. She'll s
tart her North American leg on November 18 in Miami Beach, FL. But never fear New York. Gilberto will be making a stop in this city of ours. She'll be at Hiro Ballroom. That's down around the meat packing district in The Maritime Hotel. I say that because I couldn't remember where Hiro was and had to look it up! Oh lookie there, I got side-tracked! Anyway, back to Gilberto's New York stop. The Hiro Ballroom date is November 25. And, for our neighbors in New Jersey, she'll be at Wellmont Theatre in Montclair on November 28.To get you ready for the upcoming shows, you can grab a goodie. That's right, free stuff folks! Below, you can download her version of the Stevie Wonder penned "The Real Thing" for which she teamed up with Mark Ronson. There's also her version of 'Chica Chica Boom Chic" if you haven't already grabbed it.

Back in 1968, Elyse released her self-titled debut record. She had quite a buzz back then ap
pearing on The Tonight Show, in Newsweek among other things. All big deal stuff. Jump ahead to 1999. That's the year Andrew Rieger of Elf Power discovered and fell in love with the long forgotten album. He contacted Elyse, who now goes by the name Cori Bishop, and the rest, as they say, is history.Orange Twin Records re-released her the self-titled Elyse and a couple of other songs recorded during that era. One of those songs, "Houses" even features Neil Young's guitar work. The record once again created a buzz and even inspired Dinosaur Jr. and others to cover her work.Over the past several years, Elyse has been doing shows and has recorded her first album since the late 60's. The record, In My Own Sweet Time, is slated to hit shelves November 15. The record is a blend of melodic folk, country and pop. Check out the first single, "Anybody Out There?," from In My Own Sweet time below.
