Eli Mardock Mardock To Release Debut Full-Length In July

Eli Mardock will release his full-length debut album, Everything Happens For The First Time Out, on July 9 via Paper Garden Records.  He recently premiered the track "Everything Is Good" from the album on Zimbio.

Having established himself as the vocalist of indie cult favorites Eagle Seagull (a band that Florence Welch championed and had toured with Tokyo Police Club and B-52’S), Eli Mardock’s penchant for dramatic and dream-like songs has earned him a legion of followers over the past decade. After the demise of that band, he released two highly regarded solo EPs (Feb 2013’s Hamburg and 2012’s NE Sorrow is Born). A video for the track “Cut Me Open” (off of NE Sorrow Is Born) helped the song receive over 18,000 digital downloads.

Mardock’s previously released EPs were the sole output of him playing all instruments and producing. With Everything Happens For The First Time, Mardock enlists the skills of former Eagle Seagull members, drummer Andrew Tyler (on six of the tracks) and keyboardist/violinist (as well as current wife) Carrie Butler. Mixing duties were also entrusted to Justin Gerrish (whose credits include Vampire Weekend and The Strokes).

The Trophy Fire released their new album, Directions for Daylight, in May 2013.

San Francisco, California-based trio The Trophy Fire prevails at balancing full-bodied guitar hooks with delicate synth-centered melodies. Formed by Ben Flanagan (vocals/guitar/keys), The Trophy Fire at its core is a musical combination of the ‘90s alt/indie rock scene of his formative years and the ‘80s synth-pop of his early youth. It’s a sound that the group (rounded out by brothers John Schuman on drums/vocals and Adam Schuman on guitar/vocals) further expand upon on their third full-length, Directions For Daylight, to be released May 21 via Greyday Records (I Was Totally Destroying It, The Heligoats).

New Song From Dancing Heals + New Album

Australian based Dancing Heals have released a new song, "Something."  The track is from their upcoming second album, You Will Never Be Younger Than You Are Now, which is scheduled for release on July 5.  Check out the song below.

One week after announcing the July 5th release date of their new album, You Will Never Be Younger Than You Are Now, and Australia tour, Dancing Heals are back at it again. Having just released their second single off the album, making it available as a free download, the new track is a trademark Dancing Heals heartbreaker with soaring guitars. Titled “Something”, this is the follow up single of "Always on My Mind," which was released earlier this Spring, both taken from the forthcoming LP. The Heals have just finished shooting a music video for the track, working with local director Thomas Elliott, of Achtung Films which will be out later this Summer.

Their new album, You Will Never Be Younger Than You Are Now, will be available on digital and CD formats in July on DEL GRANGO RECORDS, distributed by MGM Distribution.
