Flashback: Newport Jazz Festival 2014

Winter has been taking a leisurely stroll here on the East Coast.  Folks have been counting down to the days until Spring shows up.  To give us some warm thoughts, we're going to flashback to last summer when we spent time roaming around the Newport Jazz Festival.  The reminiscing has gotten us excited for the 2015 Newport Jazz Festival presented by Natixis Global Asset Management; tickets are on-sale now.  **And, by the way, $55 flex tickets are still available until March 1…can't beat that price! You should hurry though. After March 1st, they will be the regular price of $74.  But, while we wait for all of the great music that will take place July 31 - August 2, this is what last year looked like.

NBC Nightly News' Lester Holt was on hand.  He filmed a great segment on the festival.

Allen Toussaint hung out with festival producer George Wein.

There was plenty of dancing.

It rained, oh did it rain. But, a little rain ain't nothing to Newport Jazz Festival fans.

The faces of happy festival goers who spotted me capturing their good time.

So, while things got a little wet (I even managed to stay upright in the mud), all in all it was a great weekend of music.  See you there this summer?

**Flex Tickets can be used for adult general admission for concerts at Fort Adams State Park July 31 – August 2, 2015. With a Flex ticket, there is no need to decide now which day to attend. The offer is not valid on reserved seats, or for the Friday evening concert at the International Tennis Hall of Fame at the Newport Casino.  (Tickets for the Friday, July 31, concert at Fort Adams is priced at $40.00, so it is a better deal if Flex Tickets are used for events on Saturday and Sunday.)
