Edward Sharpe And The Magnetic Zeros Release Video + Tour Dates

Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros recently released a video for their track "No Love Like Yours". Check out the Olivia Wilde directed clip below.

Edward Sharpe And The Magnetic Zeros are releasing their new album, PersonA, April 15.

They're doing a slew of shows.  Sorry New York, their show at St. Ann and The Holy Trinity Church is sold out!
A good deal of the songs on PersonA were written by all ten band members collectively. Writing would often begin with a member playing his instrument not even knowing where the song would go with principal songwriter and singer Alex Ebert encouraging and directing the song's shape yielding wonderfully unique ends. It's little wonder that Rolling Stone wrote that PersonA is the band's "most risk-taking, freewheeling album yet."

Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros - "Life Is Hard"

Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros recently released a video for the song “Life Is Hard”.  Check it out below.

Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros are premiering an all new video for the single "Life Is Hard" today via BigSunFoundation.org. The video features an acoustic version of the song, recorded live at WVUF in New York, set to the World Press Photo Contest winners of 2013, held yearly to showcase the highest standards in photojournalism and share them with millions.

Lead singer Alex Ebert said of the collaboration, "On some sleepless and homeless night, towards the end of my first trip to Amsterdam, I stumbled into what perhaps was a cathedral. It must have been midnight or thereabouts, but it was aglow and bustling. I entered and never forgot the experience not the name of the experience - it was an exhibit of World Press Photo winners. Years later, I am honored to have been given permission to put some of the photography from this year's winners to an acoustic recording of a song that means a lot to me called 'Life Is Hard'."

Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros have always been passionate about the community. From their earliest days in 2007, the band has consistently created music that uplifts and brings people together from all over the world. Individually and collectively, they've actively supported a variety of charitable endeavors, including: Charity Water, VH1 Save The Music Foundation, The American Red Cross, and many more. It is in this spirit that Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros have formed the Big Sun Foundation - a non-profit organization that believes in the power of a unified world community. "We will identify causes and social issues that are important to all of us and work together to create opportunities to make a difference in the world one beautiful human at a time," said the members of Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros. "In joining together, we will bring awareness and support to causes that are fighting for the rights and basic needs of all beings." Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros To Release New Album in July + New Single

When last I glimpsed Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros it was at the Newport Folk Festival where they were playing for a jam-packed crowd. The area by that stage looked like some sort of trippy tent revival.  Just the tiny bit I witnessed was a sight to be seen.  They are among those whose live energy translates well to record.  That being said, there's good news for ESMZ fans. Come July 23 here in the US and Canada they will release their third studio album via Community Music.  The self-titled work was produced by frontman Alex Ebert.

They premiered the single "Better Days" last week.  The song stole me with one utterly simple line, "We don’t have to talk, let’s dance".  You can check out the track below.

Track Listing
  • Better Days
  • Let's Get High
  • Two
  • Please!
  • Life is Hard
  • If I Were Free
  • In The Lion
  • Country Calling
  • They Were Wrong
  • In The Summer
  • Remember To Remember
  • This Life

Edward Sharp & The Magnetic Zeros are on tour.  They'll be in New York on June 8 at Governors Ball Music Festival on Randall's Island.
