Photos & Video: Lisa Bianco At Arlene's Grocery 2/26

Lisa Bianco and The Fury: February 26
@ Arlene's Grocery, New York, NY

I headed over to Arlene's Grocery last night to see Lisa Bianco. She was joined onstage by Gerry Perlinski (guitar), Dan Fabricatore (bass) and Dan Duggins (drums). Bianco, a personable performer, is front and center full of smiles and some wicked guitar licks. And, she has surrounded herself with a stellar band.

I don't remember how I first came across Bianco's music but I do remember what song caught my attention. It was "Sideways" from her album Post Data which she played last night. It's a catchy number. This was my first time seeing her live so I wasn't sure what to expect show wise. I soon found out. The lady rocks... hard. I knew she was a rock chick, but for some reason I hadn't expected her to rock out like she did... wow! There are two things I'm a big fan of, good guitarists and women who rock. Bianco, of course, is both.

Bianco and band stormed through a tight set. Some of the songs I recognized from her record, others were new and there was one hell of a cover of Blondie's "Dreamin'". I had a great time. It was a good show and I'm glad I leaped slushy puddles and mounds of snow to catch it. Check out the photos from the set and the video for "Sun Glare," both below.
